2025 MLK Dream Weekend

Join us for the 2025 MLK Dream Weekend, a powerful three-day celebration honoring the life, legacy, and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This annual event brings together the Albuquerque community for a series of activities that inspire reflection, unity, and a recommitment to the values Dr. King championed.

The weekend begins on Saturday, January 18, with the MLK Commemorative March, which starts at 9:00 AM at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and University Boulevard NE on the UNM campus. This march is a symbolic act of unity and remembrance. Later that morning, the Commemorative Ceremony will take place at Civic Plaza, located at 1 Civic Plaza, Albuquerque, NM 87102, starting at 11:00 AM. The ceremony will feature speakers and performances that honor Dr. King's enduring impact on civil rights and justice.

On Sunday, January 19, the celebration continues with the MLK Service, sponsored by the Baptist Ministers Union. The service begins at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 608 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. This service will offer an opportunity for reflection, praise, and a reaffirmation of the values Dr. King lived by.

The weekend concludes on Monday, January 20, with the MLK Breakfast, an event sponsored by Grant Chapel, starting at 8:00 AM at Embassy Suites, located at 1000 Woodward Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
